Xbox Support is certainly one of the best companies in responding to issues related to their consoles, and this is yet another example of that.
They shared the tweet on Xbox Support Twitter after the initial reports of Xbox console crashes with NBA 2K22:
While it's been a problem with Xbox for a couple of weeks, more people are complaining of the console's crash when they try to play NBA 2K22 on Xbox Series X/S. This was something we had reported to us just a few weeks ago.
Several people have experienced problems loading NBA 2K22 onto Xbox Series X/S. The console crashed, and displayed a message that stated that inadequate ventilation caused the console to shut down.
There aren't airflow issues that players experience using their consoles, it sounds like, rather it's some type of glitch triggering it.
NBA 2K22 hasn't been the sole game with issues since other players began to make posts recently claiming that they were getting the same error message when they tried to play Madden 22 and FIFA 22 also, FIFA 22 being only accessible in the EA Play 10 hour free trial right now.
This is even more fascinating because this problem has been caused by two games by 2K Sports, and two from EA Sports, which are all sports games.
