After returning to India , buoyed by the lovely contacts and meetings in the UK, the end of the year 2017 was marked with a lot of productive activity.  Firstly, a national steering committee for fair trade towns met and reviewed the work done in Pondicherry and Kotagiri (the seaside town and the town at the top of a hill , as I lovingly refer to them) ; both of which are making plenty of progress towards certification.

It boggles the mind to see how fast time moves. It feels like just yesterday that Natesa Iyer and I, backed by a whole troupe of vibrant, energetic and charmistastic people undertook the 450km walk from Pondicherry to Ooty, to raise awareness for Fair Trade and Climate Justice.

Spirits were high, especially after the generousity offered by Mr. Ravishankar in Aathur, who boarded us for the night on Day 4.

 

An irresistable Vaada ( Indian Savoury Donut) was on offer on one of the nearby street stalls, which was our breakfast for the beginning of what promised to be a very fulfilling day 5. Good weather and a serene vista of hills were the backdrop for this leg of the journey.
